Say NO to Bullshit.

( This is you deflecting bullshit)

For all new mothers and mums to be.....
My message to you....

Say NO to the ridiculous expectations of society...
Say NO to 'getting your flat tummy back' because that's what the media tells us we should do.
Say NO to the worry of a messy house...just CHOOSE not to worry.
Say NO to the thousands and thousands of opinions from others about how you should raise YOUR baby because people are seeking to validate their own views and choices ( it's their shit, not yours).
Say NO to the neighbour who you've spoken to ONCE before about the bins but who now wants to visit the baby and stay for hours!
Actually, say NO to visitors period if that's what you want.
Say NO to being the "perfect" mother because THAT SHIT JUST DON'T EXIST.
Say NO to putting on makeup if you just don't feel like it today. Or any day.
Say NO to trying to prove to the world that you are 'loving every moment' of being a mum.
Say NO to pretending that you haven't just had a fucking shitty night and you don't feel like you could burst into tears at any moment.
Say NO to holding back the tears.
Say NO to beating yourself up about doing something or not doing something. You just don't need self-judgment on top of everything else, so just STOP IT NOW.
Say NO to mother and baby classes if YOU dont enjoy them. The test of a good mother is NOT how many classes you are signed up to.
Say NO TO SILENCE. Talk to your friends and family about how you are feeling, your achey boobs, your desperate need for just 5 minutes to yourself, your anxiety, your loneliness.
Say NO to feeling guilty about missing your old life. You CAN love being a mum and miss your freedom at the same time.

Say NO to the BULLSHIT.

Say YES I am a REAL mum.
Say YES take me or leave me because THIS IS ME.
Say YES I know what is right for my baby because it FEELS right. I just need quiet to listen to myself.

Say YES to honesty
Say YES to help
Say YES I am fucking awesome.
