What is (this hippy-sounding Hoopla) Hypnobirthing About?

It may surprise you to learn that hypnobirthing is not about the PERFECT birth.

It is about the BEST birth for you and your baby, whatever that looks like on the day.

It's about believing that knowing is better than not knowing and that that knowledge could make the difference between emerging from birth victorious or broken because KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

It's about believing you have rights to be respected in childbirth, rights to compassion and sensitivity from those caring for you.

It's about knowing the value of unwavering support.

It's about addressing and releasing anxieties and the freedom that gives you to enjoy your pregnancy and birth to the full.

It's about confidence and control and taking responsibility.

It's about your birthing partner just as much as it is about you.

It's about stripping back the layers of our culture that has negatively shaped our perception of birth.

It's about believing that you deserve something better than the representations of birth you see on T.V and in film....and you do. You deserve a hell of a lot better.

It's about knowing that your mental health matters, how you FEEL about your birth experience matters as you will remember it for the rest of your life and how you feel can shape your relationship with your child.

It's about knowing that to want a good, positive birth experience is not selfish but a wonderfully kind thing for your baby too because a calm, smooth, confident experience for you is a wonderful gift, perhaps the best gift you can give to them.

It's about having the tools to be able to remain in control and cope well with the unexpected, a change of plan, a disrespectful caregiver, a less than ideal birthing environment.

It's about knowing you are doing everything in your power to dramatically boost your chances of beginning motherhood confident and elated, ready to love with all your being.
